DAY 1: SAI GON ARRIVAL

Upon arrival in Saigon, you are warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel for the check-in.

HIGHLIGHTS OF SAIGON

In the afternoon, set out a tour to visit Saigon, including the Notre Dame Cathedral (under construction, photo outside only), a red brick edifice with twin spires based on the original construction from Paris. Then head across the square to the Central Post Office, designed by the French architect, Gustave Eiffel. Continue your visit with the former Presidential Palace, the headquarters of the Saigon Government during the American war, revealing the history of Saigon during its turbulent recent past. Further, drive to visit Tan Dinh Church (Pink Church) for a. Then sit down at a street coffee shop for a break to observe the daily life of the locals, and have a little personal chat with your guide over a cup of coffee. Your guide will give you some interesting tips such as how to cross the road without breaking a sweat or to say a few simple words in Vietnamese as well as offer an insight of the local’s daily lives.

Transfer back to your hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight in Saigon.

DAY 2: SAI GON - VUNG TAU

After breakfast, depart for a 2-hour drive from Saigon towards Ba Ria – Vung Tau. Take a moment to reflect on the Battle of Long Tan in 1966, arguably the most famous battle fought by the Australian Army during the Vietnam War, while visiting the simple Long Tan Memorial Cross in the middle of the rubber plantations. Pay a visit to the former 1st Australian Task Force Base at Nui Dat, which is now just a clearing surrounded by rubber plantations. Take a moment to reflect on the battle on that fateful day at Long Tan Memorial Cross. Continue travelling to Long Phuoc to visit a wartime tunnel complex. The war has been over for over forty years, but evidence of the tunnel system into the bowels of the earth is still there. Head over to Horseshoe Hill, an elevated site of an extinct volcano. This was a strategic observation out post established by the Australian forces. Nowadays, visitors are not allowed to access it, but it is possible to see from afar. After lunch at a local restaurant, driven to hotel for check in.

Overnight in Vungtau.

DAY 3: SAI GON - HA NOI

After breakfast, driven back to Saigon, then take your flight to Hanoi. Then driven to the hotel for check in.

In the afternoon, start your trip with a visit to the Temple of Literature, the first University for the sons of mandarins, for an overview about Hanoi culture and an appreciation for ancient Vietnamese architecture. Then head to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum that offers a broad insight into Vietnam’s people including its 54 ethnic groups through a lens of women’s topics. Walk through diverse exhibitions from street vendors to marriage to family life to traditional fashion.  End the trip with a cyclo tour from the museum to the Old Quarter. Ride through its narrow streets to indulge yourself in the bustle and hustle of the local daily life.

Overnight in Hanoi.

DAY 4: HA NOI - HA LONG BAY

After breakfast & check out at your hotel, depart for 4 hours drive to Ha Long Bay, recognized as a natural site of World Heritage by UNESCO in 1994. The Bay is dominated by more than 1,600 limestone karsts and islets, which rise out of the waters of the bay to heights of up to 100 meters.

HALONG BAY’S HIGHLIGHT

On arrival at Tuan Chau Marina, check-in to your elegant cabin and enjoy a welcome drink followed by a brief cruise introduction. Afterwards, the vacation begins with a sumptuous lunch on board. Then visit Tien Ong cave – one of the most beautiful cave in the Bay. Getting back on board for refreshing before attending a cooking demonstration instructed by our Head Chef. An elegant dinner is served afterwards.

This evening, retire to your cabin for leisure time or join the squid-fishing program. Overnight on board

DAY 5: HA LONG BAY - HA NOI - DEPARTURE

Wake up early and partake in a Tai Chi demonstration which is held on the upper deck.

Then Visit Cua Van floating village which is voted as one of the 11 insanely beautiful small towns around the world by huffingtonpost.com. You can choose either kayaking or traditional rowing boat to go around discovering local life on the water. Return to your boat where buffet brunch is waiting.

Arrive at the jetty late morning and then driven to Van Don Airport to fly to HCMC.
