A PEACEFUL PILGRIMAGE DAY
After breakfast, you are met at the hotel’s lobby to set out on a tour visiting beautiful Buu Long Pagoda, one of the first pagodas constructed following Theravada Buddhism architecture in Vietnam.
Leaving Buu Long fora Truc Lam School Zen Monastery,one of Zen meditation study centers in southern Vietnam. The monastery is home to nuns and monks following the teaching of Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, a renowned Buddhism teacher in Zen and meditation. The Venerable’s teachings and lectures are embraced, practiced and circulated in many different forms of media around the world by Vietnamese.
10.45: enjoy a special veggie lunch named “Tho Trai” in the monastery with Buddhism rituals. After that take a rest in a peaceful environment with melodious wind-chimes’ sound or stroll around the Zen Monastery for photo shooting.
13.00: return to Saigon and stop by Minh Dang Quang Monastery which represents unique Vietnamese practice of Buddhism, Mendicant School. This practice was founded in southern Vietnam’s provinces, and is a successful combination of Theravada and Mahayana. While much of the philosophy is Mahayana, the Sangha (monks and nuns) follows the Vinaya rules quite strictly and keeps on the traditional alms round every day.
